This week we were finally able to mount the cargo intake onto the arm and use the new code to make the robot function with both mechanisms. In the process, we faced a lot of issues with the structural stability of the arm, and spent a lot of time working around this to ensure that our robot was stable and had as few weak spots as possible. In order to do so, we had to completely redesign the upper platform for better supports.
With the finalized arm coming together, we also worked on the redesigned camera mount and code to get us set for two weeks of nonstop testing. On Saturday, we were able to go to Santa Margarita High School to use their facilities and practice on Code Orange’s practice field as well.
