This week we kicked off the 2019-2020 year with many interested applicants. We were able to create the Graphic Design, Media, and Business teams due to many students showing their interest in FIRST Robotics. There were a wide variety of branches the members could chose from, such as the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Programming, Business, Media, and Graphic Design teams.
Mechanical Engineering:
The Mechanical Engineering team learned various things like how to use the bandsaw, handsaw, and clamps. We also came across drilling, riveting, and had to replace the loose rivets with sturdy ones. The most thrilling part for us was adding parts to advance the robot.
Graphic Design:
The Graphic Design team was brainstorming for different designs such as shirts, flags, banners, and bandanas to create our new uniform look. We searched for shirt suppliers to create our new team shirts.
Programming:
The Programming Team was exposed to the basics of programming and coding, and were given instructions to download applications. We are learning Python 3, which is the foundation of programming.
