We made substantial progress this week, as we were able to make our first version of the cargo intake that could roll in and shoot out the cargo balls. Using a set of wheels on an axle hooked up to a motor, we could spin the ball inwards and have it stay in the intake and then reverse the direction to shoot. In the meantime, our programmers made progress with mapping these controls to the controller and finding a way to make the intake cooperate with our flipping arm.
Along with our progress on the robot this week, we also continued to mentor Jeffrey Trail Middle School’s VEX Robotics team after school on some days, helping them with fabricating design and teaching them how to properly operate tools.
