First day is practice day, and being a rookie team with members that are inexperienced in the field of competing at FIRST, our team made many mistakes in following the rules and unsaid rules of the competition. We learned about many rules in and out of the games.
The second day completes most of the qualification matches. We had a rough start as our inexperience showed in the first few matches, but our robot and simplicity gave our team a chance to get many points. We consistently attached 4 to 6 panels per match. We finished the day with a 6-1-0 record, which we felt was an amazing performance for a rookie team.
The third day started with the last few qualification matches, where our team finished with a 7-1-1 record, ending at 6th place. We went into alliance selections and chose our alliance. We played our first play-off match against alliance 4 (we moved up to 5th). Our final record of the tournament is 8-3-1 as we lost our first playoff match 1-2. After the tournament, our team was awarded with the Rookie All-Star and the Highest Placing Rookie awards. The Rookie All-Star confirmed our team a place in worlds, which is where Ronin Robotics will be going next!
